Heartland has recently been in the headlines after the release of their list “Red Team” nominees sent to the Trump EPA in an attempt to create a government sanctioned debate on the scientific consensus on climate change.
“The conservative think tank Heartland Institute is suggesting scientists, business leaders and lawyers who are skeptical of mainstream climate science for the climate “red team” U.S. EPA boss Scott Pruitt says he wants to assemble.
Two separate lists of scientists and economists were sent to EPA by the Heartland Institute, according to documents obtained by the environmental advocacy group Climate Investigations Center and shared today with E&E News. Personal information was redacted from the list.
Pruitt has continually promoted the idea of launching a red team to highlight uncertainties within climate science, and some conservatives are eager to help. Heartland and EPA did not immediately respond to requests for comment about the lists.”
