Thomas B. Hayward will be speaking at the America First Energy Conference.
Thomas B. Hayward is a Vietnam and Korean War veteran who retired from the Navy in 1982. He is also the co-founder of Voyager Expanded Learning, an education services company that focuses on at-risk students.
In 2014, Hayward, along with Edwards S. Briggs and Donald K. Forbes, published the report Climate Change, Energy Policy, and National Power. In this Heartland Institute published report, Hayward stated that holding the US back from fulfilling it’s petroleum-based product requirements is “a reluctance to develop the nation’s massive natural resources under the mistaken belief in the unproven science that claims carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from burning of fossil fuels is the major cause of recent and future warming of the Earth. Anthropogenic (human-caused) global warming/climate change is a scientific hypothesis.” In the same report, Hayward also supports the idea that current climate change is caused by Earth recovering from the Little Ice Age.
Hayward published another report through Heartland in 2016 titled Global Warming/Climate Change A Layman’s point of view. The report challenges IPCC’s stance that human activity is the primary cause of global warming, with Hayward arguing that “there is no empirical evidence that supports the [anthropogenic global warming] thesis.”
